1. Newly Qualified Solicitor
Nationwide | Full-Time

Start your career where it counts. As an NQ at ASL, you'll be supported by experienced senior solicitors while building real advocacy skills across criminal law.

What we're looking for:

  • Recently completed training contract or LPC/SQE qualified

  • Strong commitment to client care

  • Eagerness to develop across practice areas

2. Duty Solicitor
Birmingham | Full-Time

Experienced representation when it matters most. We're recruiting accredited Duty Solicitors to join our busy teams across three key cities, covering police station and court duty work.

What we're looking for:

  • Current Duty Solicitor accreditation (Law Society Criminal Litigation)

  • Experience in police station representation and Magistrates/Crown Court

  • Ability to work under pressure with professionalism

3. Paralegal
Nationwide | Full-Time / Part-Time

The backbone of great legal work. Our paralegals work closely with solicitors on live cases conducting research, preparing bundles, managing client communications, and supporting court preparation.

What we're looking for:

  • Law degree or equivalent legal qualification

  • Strong organisational and written communication skills

  • Prior legal office experience preferred

Birmingham | Full-Time / Shift-Based

On the frontline of criminal defence. Our PSRs attend police stations around the clock, advising clients at the earliest and often most critical stage of their case.

What we're looking for:

  • Accredited Police Station Representative (or working towards accreditation)

  • Calm under pressure, reliable, and client-focused

  • Willingness to cover on-call/out-of-hours shifts

Summer Internship Programme

1–2 weeks | Unpaid | Available in Birmingham

Spend your summer inside a busy, nationally recognised law firm. You’ll shadow a solicitor, sit in on client consultations, assist with case preparation, attend Crown Court hearings, and gain a real understanding of legal practice at pace.
